Farwa Lane with two of her colts, Tamarzon and Abu Galizar in 1979
Farwa Lane was Galloway Arabians' first Arabian Horse, and foundation mare. The listed Breeders on her pedigree reads like a virtual who's who of the great early American breeders and importers. Her bottomside granddam was bred by the U.S. Remount. Just four generations back were the horses Alla Amarward, Rasraff (by *Raffles), Rasrah (by Rayseyn), Ghazibraa (by Ghazi), Antonia (by Ghazi), Arabi Kabir (by Image), Raideyna (by Ferdeyn), Abu Farwa, Ferseyn, Ronek (by Rayseyn), Fath (*Rodan x *Kola), and *Kastrzewa. They were bred by Kellogg, Selby, Brown, Babson, Hearst, Thomas and Lannigan! These horses were American Arabians with 3 and 4 digit registration numbers. The Firsts-the greats. The ones that performed at the Kellogg Sunday shows. This mare was the product of the best bred with the best. She was an unbelievable mare, and she is the granddam of our present foundation mare. I can still see her in the horses we have today. THAT is why the Crabbet lines are so great. They are consistant, and withstand the tests of time!
